Apparently I’m not the only person who loved the 2004 Thomas Jane Punisher movie. If you haven’t seen it by now my guess is you probably won’t, so I’ve embedded the best scene, which just happens to be the ending, above (spoiler alert!). The Punisher’s extremely thorough revenge scheme is what really elevates the movie for me, but I think I could have also sold it with clips of a guy getting stabbed through the bottom of his head with a knife and you can see the knife through his open mouth, pro wrestler Kevin Nash, several bow and arrow deaths, and the Punisher contemplating suicide while drinking Wild Turkey. It’s a fun movie.
The 2009 Punisher is so bad Stan Lee didn’t even show up for a cameo.
This is one of my all time favorite Marvel films just because of how hardcore it was. Here, Jeff Rubin puts words I couldn’t myself even think of saying to describe why this is so much better than the new one. Thanks Jeff.
